Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp (OTPMD) is a Swiss-based avant-garde music collective known for its eclectic mix of genres, experimental soundscapes, and captivating live performances. The group was formed in Geneva in 2006 by double bassist Vincent Bertholet and takes its name from the renowned French artist Marcel Duchamp, famous for his revolutionary contributions to the Dada movement and conceptual art.
Their sixth album, Ventre Unique, was released in November 2024 on the Geneva-based label Bongo Joe.
Although the collective’s lineup has changed over the years, its core ethos remains rooted in collaboration, improvisation, and pushing the boundaries of traditional musical conventions. Drawing from diverse influences, including rock, jazz, punk, and world music, OTPMD creates a sonic tapestry that defies categorization.
Throughout their career, OTPMD has released multiple albums, EPs, and singles, each showcasing their innovative approach to composition and performance. Their music is often marked by complex rhythms, unconventional instrumentation, and a playful spirit that reflects the irreverent character of their namesake.
