Catastrophe (FR)

Everything could be different. That is the idea that drives Catastrophe, a group that refuses to do the same thing twice. Formed in 2016 by Pierre, Blandine and Arthur, the band aims to forbid itself nothing, even at the risk of seeming ridiculous. Whether in cabarets, forests, or on beaches, through concerts across France, summer festivals (Rock en Seine, Les Francofolies, We Love Green, Pete the Monkey…), a 12-hour New Year’s radio broadcast, original creations in Munich, Warsaw, or Tokyo, or a piece composed with 80 children in Marseille – Catastrophe imagines.

In 2018, the album La nuit est encore jeune (“The Night Is Still Young”) was released on the Tricatel label, following a book of the same name published in 2017 by Pauvert.

On stage, surprise reigns supreme. Catastrophe brings together six distinct personalities – Pierre, Blandine, Arthur, Bastien, Pablo, and Carol – like a team of Power Rangers, each with their own unique skills and special moves. A kaleidoscope of musical genres, Catastrophe shares Kamasi Washington and Aquaserge’s taste for experimentation, Tank and the Bangas’ love of soul, and Arcade Fire’s collective joy. Everything changes at every moment – and that is the gift.
