Ladaniva (FR)

The Lille-based duo Ladaniva brings together Armenian singer Jacqueline Baghdasaryan and French multi-instrumentalist Louis Thomas. Together, they blend elements of Armenian folk with traditional rhythms from around the world to create their own unique, danceable sound – one that’s both fresh and modern.

Formed in late 2019, Ladaniva is a multicultural group whose music joyfully fuses bright touches of Armenian folk with melodies and rhythms drawn from elsewhere – maloya, reggae, Balkan, African, and Arabic influences – crafting a modern, energetic sound deeply rooted in history and tradition.

Ladaniva rose to fame almost instantly after the release of their music video “Vay Aman” – a must-see (or must-rediscover) introduction to their vibrant world!
