Fernie (CA)
Originally from Montreal, Fernie draws inspiration from soul artists such as Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar. His Brazilian-Canadian heritage shines through in his vulnerable lyrics and powerful melodies. As you explore his musical universe, you’ll notice a skillful juxtaposition of genres and influences. His music is both inclusive and tinged with a subtle 1990s melancholy. His unique and eclectic sound continues to evolve with each consecutive project.
Singing since childhood, Fernie first emerged in 2015, self-writing and producing The Acoustic EP. By releasing it on SoundCloud, he gained considerable popularity in Montreal, particularly in the city’s West Island. This provided a solid musical foundation to move forward with new material and continue his rise.
Fernie is now part of a Montreal collective, Kids From The Underground, alongside artists such as Samaether, Hxx, and JAD, to name a few. His first album was produced with contributions from several members of the collective.
