Calling Marian (FR)

Calling Marian is a producer like no other. Trained in musicology, she draws inspiration from a wide range of artistic horizons to create powerful, sincere, and emotional music at the intersection of techno, acid, and trance. Her goal is to forge a strong synergy between techno and club rhythms, nostalgic harmonies, and catchy melodies.

Known for her independence, she writes, records, produces, and mixes all her tracks herself, releasing them on CVNT Records, the label she founded in 2017. In live performances, she is accompanied by machines and synthesizers.

The strength of this producer lies in her stage presence. Whether performing DJ sets on alternative stages like Wet For Me, La Trou aux Biches, Jeudi OK, Nova Mix Club, Disorder, or Kindergarten, or live on major festival stages such as Marsatac, Rock en Seine, Les Vieilles Charrues, Panoramas, Scopitone, Hop Pop Hop, Les Nuits Sonores, Sakifo, and Fusion Festival… she captivates audiences. In her relatively short career, she has also opened for renowned artists including Weval, Laurent Garnier, Jeanne Added, Arnaud Rebotini, Chloé, and Emika.

After numerous remixes and four consecutive EPs (The Parade in 2017, Rainmaking in 2019, Pisces in 2018, and Calling For The Past in 2020), she is preparing her first album for 2023: Hyper Opus, a manifesto-like work exploring feminism and sisterhood, and their power in the face of the ecological and human crises of our time. The tracks are conceived as different scenes of a global work, as sonic landscapes of an adventure whose interpretation, being instrumental, is left entirely to the listener.
